Since our Shea butter is raw and handmade, every batch may have slight variations in color and scent depending on the season and the nuts used. This has no effect on the quality. It is a natural reminder that you're getting the real, unrefined goodness.

A note on the scent
Ours smells faintly of woodsmoke and nuts. The women roast the nuts over an open wood fire before pounding and kneading the butter by hand, and that warm, smoky note stays in the butter. It's how raw Shea butter is meant to smell.
