Natural Glow With Shea Butter, Baobab and Carrot Oil

Treat your skin to a whipped Shea butter infused with the brightening benefits of carrot oil. For extra fluffiness and nutrients, add Baobab oil. A touch of mica powder gives you that extra glow.

Why Add Carrot Oil?

  • Glow up: carrot oil is packed with beta-carotene and vitamins, which help even out and brighten the look of your skin tone.
  • Natural glow: it gives skin a healthy, lit-from-within finish.

Carrot oil goes in slowly while the Shea butter blends smooth in the pot.

Why Add Baobab Oil? (Optional)

  • Deep moisturisation: Baobab oil is rich in fatty acids and natural vitamin E, and it hydrates deeply without leaving a film.
  • Extra fluffiness: it makes the whipped texture softer and creamier.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw Shea butter
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons carrot oil, adjust to taste for colour
  • 1/4 cup Baobab oil (optional)
  • 10 to 15 drops of your favourite essential oil, lavender, chamomile or sweet orange all work (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon mica powder (optional, for shimmer)

What You'll Need

  • An immersion blender, or a regular mixer

Let's Get Whipping

  1. Soften up (optional). If your Shea butter is very firm and you are using a regular mixer, soften it slightly in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, the double boiler method, until it gives without fully melting. With an immersion blender you can skip this step.

  2. Combine. Put the softened Shea butter in a mixing bowl. Add the carrot oil, and the Baobab oil if you are using it.

  3. Whip it. Blend until light, fluffy and fully combined. This takes a few minutes. Be patient, the texture changes all at once near the end.

  4. Add essential oils and mica. Once whipped, add 10 to 15 drops of essential oil and the mica powder for shimmer. Blend briefly to incorporate. Both are totally optional.

  5. Scoop and store. Transfer into a clean, airtight container. Keep it somewhere cool and dry and it is ready whenever your skin wants it.

Pro tip: this whipped Shea butter with carrot oil moisturises and nourishes while giving skin a natural glow. Customise it with Baobab oil for fluffiness and mica for shimmer. Shea butter and carrot oil both work perfectly well on their own, so play with the ratios until you find what your skin likes.

Enjoy your glowing, beautifully scented whipped Shea butter.
